 Not only can a Technical service department Page help the other members of the brary, they would know more about us  and how to reach us, they'll definitely appreciate the ability to use this page as a "holding tank" for things they need to know.

 

The most used portions of this page will probably be your task list (you'll be using this heavily), and the list of tasks that others would like you to work on (expect your teammates to use this extensively).

About Me:

I 'm Cataloguing Librarian at the Cape Penninsula University of Technology & also at student at University of the Western Cape Studying toward my Masters Degree.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Cataloguing library materials
  • Processing
  • Accessioning
  • Copy Cataloguing
  • Ordering Books

 

Tasks I'm Working On:

  • Cataloguing books, AV material & periodical (new), demonstrated knowledge of cataloging principles and procedures, including Library of Congress Subject Headings and Classification, AACR2R, and MARC formats.  
  • To participate, as required, in the operation of the enquiry and loans desks, including evenings shift.   
  • Merging records that are duplicates
